COMPARISON IS A WASTE OF OUR TIME

Comparison is wasteful of our time and energy


Everything in life revolves around what others think and do and how it corresponds with our own lives. Everything is a competition. Everyone has to be better, faster, stronger, more athletic, more intelligent, wealthier, more powerful, more beautiful. Everyone has to be a certain way to fit in, like a clone. Individuality is the enemy and conformity is the way of the age even if it means hurting others to get there. Why is this? One word will tell it all, COMPARISON. It will make you do things you wouldn't normally do. It ruins relationships, you burn bridges. It makes you set out to please others and expect things which are both impossible. It'll make you feel inferior. Make you feel superior. It'll make you proud, filling you with a haughty outlook on life. Make you demanding, controlling and manipulative, whatever it takes to be better than. It'll fill you with greed, envy, make you power hungry. It'll make you unstable, unsatisfied, always wanting more. Fill you with needs and wants that take higher demand over priorities and necessities. It will make you wanting for more and leaving you with none. It'll distract you, plot against you. It'll make you distrusting and distant. It'll make you angry, sad, displeased. It will make you feel worthless, depressed and alone. It'll rob you of everything good in life, nothing's ever good enough it seems. Before you know it life has passed, all your valuable time, energy and work robbed and gone because comparison got in the way. What else could you have done with your time? How much happier and simpler things could have been.. But it's too late now, or is it?
